Versatile, like a Futon Mattress.

Monday, December 7th, 2009

Futon mattresses are fabric covered and stuffed with foam and batting, usually to a standard mattress-sized width. Futon mattresses, like their frames, are also adaptable; when the frame is in the seated position, the mattress can be folded. Futon mattresses are made of many materials, and available in cotton, foam, inner springs, or a polyester blend for the internal “stuffing.” A futon mattress of 100% cotton will be heavy and a bit unwieldy, but it will also be firm and stand up to a great deal of use. Futon mattresses are not only comfortable but also very affordable so finding a model to meet your budget will not be a problem. Futon mattresses come in a wide range of materials, thicknesses and sizes.

Futon mattresses are available in a variety of different firmnesses and thicknesses. Futon mattresses can also be dressed up through the use of a futon cover, which allows the user to match their futon to their home decor. Futon mattresses are now available in a more plush, premium mattress foundation as well. The configuration of the premium mattresses more closely resembles traditional mattresses that consumers are used to. Japanese futon mattress are continually evolving. From the shuttles of NASA to your living room, the latest futon technology offers the most comfort and versatility to be found in the home furnishing industry.

Cotton and wool futons; futons with tape edges and gusseted side panels (like conventional mattresses); and futons encased in solid color, upholstery, and designer print fabrics are also available. Cotton is the most popular, but sometimes you’ll see wool or synthetic batting too, which is more expensive. When you look at the cross-section of the mattress construction, pay close attention to the batting. Online sites recommend that you pick a futon mattress based on your preferred comfort level. Futon mattresses, like conventional mattresses, will vary in finished thickness.

Wool repels moisture and wicks moisture from the body. I use it on my own bed and it works great. Wool also has high natural absorbency for moisture, which is what makes wool futons warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Because wool contains moisture in every fiber, it resists flame naturally without chemical treatment.

Cheap futon mattresses are the perfect solution in today’s economy. Plus, they are stylish and do not take up a lot of room. Cheap futons are generally what are on the minds of futon shoppers. The typical futon shopper is looking for something easy to use, easy to assemble and cheap. Futons are also a big hit with college kids, as the futon serves as both a couch and a bed.

Patio Covers, great for entertaining or storage.

Monday, December 7th, 2009

Patio covers are a great way to store outdoor items that need to be protected from the elements, allowing your patio to act for both storage and entertainment purposes. Patio covers are not like some home design projects where you get locked into using them in one way. Some kitchen remodels are like this. Patio covers are made of aluminum and can be installed in a couple of days. Aluminum contractors can install patio covers, which can be very cost effective and last much longer than asphalt and wood patio covers.

Patio covers are designed to provide protection from the outside elements whether sun or rain. With vinyl patio covers, the hot sun or bright glare won’t keep you indoors. Patio covers are exposed to different weather conditions, such as direct sunlight, rain, and humidity. Aluminum patio covers are made entirely out of aluminum, including the support systems, making them superior to wood, iron, steel, and metal covers. Patio covers are some contractors’ passion! They handle jobs of all sizes from basic installations to custom backyard designs.

Patio covers are designed to be attached to your home or freestanding. Popular vinyl patio covers are currently available in white or tan vinyl. Patio covers are used outdoors to protect your patio from Mother Nature. Some of the types include; canopies and different types of awnings, as well as patio furniture covers to protect your outdoor furniture. Patio covers are available in “Insulated covers”, which can be used for future conversion to a screen or glass room. Also available are “Non-Insulated covers”, these are great if it will always be just an open patio cover.

Alumawood patio covers are constructed of embossed aluminum with a textured wood-grain finish. The structures are built with heavy header beams and a weather-resistant Aluma-Shield paint finish that withstands sun, rain, wind, and extreme temperatures. AlumaWood stays looking new for years and years!

Awnings and patio covers are an economical way to enjoy your outside living spaces while being protected from the glare of the sun or a sudden, unexpected rain. Retractable awnings give you the flexibility of soaking up the sun one minute and chilling in the shade the next. Awnings like these can lower the amount of sunlight entering your home, and lower your electric bills. Awning fabrics come in a wide array of colors so you can choose which one suits your home the best. Fabric patio covers can be mounted from the wall of the house, the overhang, or ceiling or mounted from the roof.

Um…so you need to poop…

Monday, December 7th, 2009

Stool softeners come in several forms. They are usually taken before bed, with water or other liquid. Colace stool softener is an example of a common brand, and comes in a liquid form. Stool frequency, stool consistency, stool straining and gastrointestinal symptoms should be recorded if constipation remains a problem.

Enemas promote rapid bowel movements and the clearing of stool obstructions in the intestines. Visit your local grocer or drugstore to browse offerings of various enema products that are best suited for your constipation discomfort. Enemas have been part of my life for many years, and there were times in the past where I went daily with them and decided that this would be an excellent time to go daily again. Plus, it does help keep the weight down, not that this is the most healthy way to lose weight, and I personally don’t recommend it as a diet.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is a chronic intestinal disorder for which there is no known cure. The symptoms of this disorder include diarrhea, constipation, cramping, excess gas and severe abdominal pain. Irritable bowel syndrome refers to a gastrointestinal disorder. Its treatment usually involves the use of several medications mainly for relieving the symptoms like all of those listed above. Irritable bowel syndrome is not considered a disease but rather as a functional disorder. This means that it is a condition in which the bowel does not function correctly.

If constipation lasts longer than three days, call your doctor. Too much fiber can lead to gas and cramping, and not enough fiber can promote constipation. If you have IBS, add fiber into your diet. Fiber pills can be taken orally, but there are also handy powders that can mix into drinks. As a last resort contact your doctor for anti constipation medication.

Fiber is found in the stems, seeds and leaves of plants. It is made up of chains of sugar but humans do not have the enzymes in their digestive tract to be able to break these chains down. Fiber slows the movement of food and acidic fluid from the stomach to the intestines. It may help people with duodenal ulcers by reducing the exposure of the small intestine to stomach acids.

Regular exercise encourages regular bowel movements. Even just a ten-minute walk might get you going. Regular yogurt drinks can increase the intestines amounts of Yijun, these Yijun decomposition of organic acids formed yogurt, stimulate the gut, the gut motility strengthened, thereby eliminating constipation. Regular use of laxatives may also be called for. What works very well for one person may only work so-so for another.
